Early Beginnings

The MacLeod Lorway Financial Group Ltd. has been a leading provider of insurance and investment products since 1976. On April 1st, that year, C.R. Lorway and Son Limited and Stuart MacLeod Limited merged. President Stuart MacLeod Jr. has been in a leadership capacity since the group’s early beginnings. He and his team also have a strong philosophy that stresses the importance of personal, individualized attention to each and every customer. As Stuart would say “when you call one of our offices you will speak to a person, not an automated answering service”.

The group includes seven insurance and brokerages operating under their original names in eight separate Nova Scotia communities. The group services over 40,000 property and casualty insurance policies and over 5,000 life policies. It is one of Nova Scotia’s largest organizations of its type and recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
